Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own.  - Carol Burnett

For this Art Journal page I used words as my guide and just started putting them down until they fell together.  I then glued the ones down that seemed to work best.

Before I glued the words to the background I used a white China Maker to purge some thoughts.  I then used a black stabilo woody pencil and a little water to pull out those thoughts.

I then added the words, some paint, a little crayon, and bits of collage to complete the piece.

Supplies Used:

Waxy White China Marker

Black Woody Stabilo

Glue Stick

Cotton Paper

Collage Words

Acrylic Paint

Art Crayons

Collage

If you don't have  a supply of already cut out words I would suggest taking an afternoon or evening and a stack of magazines/old books and start cutting.  This is such an enjoyable way to spend a few hours, at least for me.  I feel like it's a little bit like looking for beach glass on the shore of a lake, as you search for that perfect word or phrase... okay, so maybe beach glass hunting is a little more enjoyable... either way, they are both great ways to spend some time searching for something...who knows what you'll find!
