For this exercise, what I do show you is how to use the Shiva Oil sticks on top of an already painted piece and how to use them on top of a quick intuitive drawing.

What I love about Shiva Oils sticks is that you can use your fingers to move the paints around, they dry usually within 24 hours, they are rich in pigment, they aren't sticky or smelly, and they can be used on almost any surface.  Of course you don't need to go out and buy them for this exercise, but they do come in mini sticks if you just want to try them out, but don't want to spend a lot of money.

Shiva oil sticks are like painting with butter.  Seriously!  I haven't used them in awhile and forgot just how creamy and lovely they are to use.  While I really wanted to use them to create a transfer image, much like in the monoprint lesson, it just didn't work, but I did find the video from five years ago.  Password: 100works.  Most likely this was filmed using a old Flip camera on a very wobbly table, the quality isn't great, but it gives you an idea of what I was hoping for when trying this again.
