Four Seeds Retreat

$645.00

POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING

In this 3-day workshop we will dig our hands into the soil and take what we find to make something of it, may it be a rock, a plant, or a seed. We will use what we find to cultivate creativity, plant new ideas, and nourish it all the ways we can.

I will share with you how to forage for and make pigment from rocks. I will then show you how to use that pigment in making paint + pastels. I will then show you how to use the paints in paintings, collages, and mixed media art.

I will guide you in my clay studio on how to make a clay palette for watercolor painting.

I aim to make this workshop a garden of possibilities, one of growth, nourishment, and creativity.

Arrive Thursday afternoon/evening and depart Sunday evening.

Each day will be filled with setting creative intentions, writing, sharing, creative adventures in and around my town, paint making, painting, drawing, clay demonstrations, and playtime.

Why Four Seeds?

Four seeds in a row one for the pigeon, one for the crow, one to die, and one to grow.

- old proverb

Each time we begin a new project, whether planting a real garden or a proverbial one, we must nurture it with care to ensure that what we cultivate nourishes ourselves and those around us. It calls for gentleness, generosity, and a quiet awareness that everything is fleeting—a reminder to not take life for granted or too seriously but to celebrate it every day.

As I wander the trails near my home, I am constantly reminded of the support and nourishment provided by nature. The trail encourages me to live thoughtfully and kindly, both to myself and others. During these three days together, I’m excited to share some of my favorite places in nature with you, and I hope you’ll discover the gifts that surround us each day to help you flourish.
